With just under 330,000 inhabitants, Graz is the capital of Styria and the second largest city in Austria. Every sixth inhabitant is a student. Karl-Franzens-Universität, colloquially also simply titled „Uni Graz“, counts a proud 32,000 students (as of
May 2023).

In the center of the inner city (old town) lies the castle Schlossberg. It is a massive dolomitic rock and forms the core of the historic old town of Graz. The Schlossberg is located directly on the banks of the Mur and towers 123 meters above the main square of Graz.
